The World's Smallest Man

The Guinness World Records recognized Colombian Edward Niño Hernandez as the current World's Smallest Man. But his record-breaking height of 27 inches may now be under-heightened by June Rey Balawing of Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines. At the age of 17, Balawing stands only 22 inches tall.

When he celebrates his 18th birthday in June he is excepted to shave five inches of the current Guinness World Record.

He cannot stand for long and is dependent on his mother, Concepcion, 35. ‘Junrey can only walk with some help and he can’t stand for too long because he’s in too much pain,’ she said.
‘But he loves it when I tell him he’s going to be the smallest man in the world. He smiles with pride.’
The family’s village is very remote and the nearest town is an hour away.
And while his younger but taller siblings Jaycel, 13, Jay-art, 11 and Jeanritch, six, go to school, he stays at home.

"I would love to be able to work while my other children are at school but I can’t leave Junrey. He needs my care every minute of every day,he was always sick and we noticed he wasn’t growing so we took him to see doctors but they were baffled."

Call of Duty: Black Ops in 3-D

As if the gun-toting action in “Call of Duty: Black Ops” wasn’t expected to feel real enough in high definition, Activision Blizzard Inc. announced Tuesday that the latest entry in its successful first-person-shooter video game franchise would be released in 3-D, yet another addition to the 3-D revolution’s growing arsenal.

Mark Lamia, studio head at developer Treyarch, said “Black Ops” would be available in 3-D as an option for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC editions of the game when it is released Nov. 9. He said the game would be the same if played in 2-D or 3-D and that no content was created especially for the 3-D version, though it looks much more immersive.

“When you’re looking at the game in 3-D, the space you’re looking at feels real,” said Lamia. “When I’ve got a weapon, and I’m painting a red dot on an enemy target, I’m painting a red dot on an enemy target. When I’m aiming down the sights, I’m aiming down the sights. When someone’s down the corridor, it feels like somebody’s down that corridor — for real.”
“Black Ops,” the seventh installment in the “Call of Duty” shoot-’em-up saga, will take aim at the Cold War, thrusting players into a time-hopping adventure that involves military cover-ups and shoot-outs in locales such as Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cuba and Russia. The game will also include extensive online multiplayer and cooperative “zombie” modes.
“We haven’t actually changed any art in the game as a result of 3-D,” Lamia said. “It’s the same high-quality, high-fidelity art in both experiences. It’s all engineering that’s gone into that. I think people are going to be shocked when they see it because they’re going to think that we crafted art or experiences for 3-D because it looks so good in 3-D.”
The gaming medium is well suited to be displayed in 3-D because most modern games are already created in three virtual dimensions, unlike many films and TV shows that must either be film

ed with special cameras or converted to 3-D. At this early stage, however, many gamers have yet to adopt the in-your-face technology because it requires a 3-D TV and glasses.

Only a handful of games, such as Ubisoft’s “Avatar: The Game” and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s “Batman: Arkham Asylum,” are available on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 3-D, while hundreds of games, including Electronic Arts’ “Battlefield: Bad Company 2” and Capcom’s “Resident Evil 5,” can be played on a PC in 3-D with the right equipment.

Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosely or Juan Manuel Marquez?

Manny Pacquiao vs Shane Mosely is getting closer to the ring.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said that the pacquiao will be back to the ring on April 16 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Arum wants two fights for Pacquiao next year, and probably the only way to this is if the fighting congressman in Sarangani holds his next fight no later than May.

There are a couple of names being contemplated, and since it’s highly improbable for Floyd Mayweather to step up the plate, the choice is down to Mosley or Juan Manuel Marquez.

“It looks like it’s Mosley,” said Pacquiao’s business manager, Eric Pineda, yesterday.

“The only thing we don’t have now is the contract,” he added.

Reports said negotiations have been ongoing between Pacquiao’s representatives in the US, including his adviser Mike Koncz, and Mosley, who’s willing to seal the deal by himself.

Mosley is ready to keep Golden Boy, which promoted his most recent fights, out of the deal because he must have realized that it’s the only way for him to land the fight with Pacquiao.

Golden Boy and Top Rank are locked in a legal battle regarding Pacquiao’s fight earnings.

A fight with Mayweather could earn Pacquiao as much as $70 million (roughly P3 billion), according to one of his advisers, Chavit Singson. But there are too many obstacles facing the superfight.

Pineda said Pacquiao is not backing off from any fight, not even with Mayweather or Marquez, who’s been shouting all over that he had beaten Pacquiao twice.

“Manny wil fight anybody. We know that,” said Pineda.

“But I think it’s going to be Mosley. I just don’t know anything about the date. Manny said he wants to return to the ring in May,” Pineda added.

“I have to make sure with Manny and make sure he’s okay with it. It’s an ideal date, right after the Final Four and the start of the baseball season and right around the beginning of the NBA playoffs,” said Arum.

“As long as it doesn’t interfere with his duties as a congressman, I think we’ll be in good shape,” he told the Las Vegas Review Journal.

According to Michael Koncz, one of Pacquiao's close adviser, Golden Boy Promotions has very high demand fight purse .

"Marquez and Golden Boy can not figure it out that Manny is not the draw with Marquez, I think so They had have overpriced themselves on that, and again, as Manny has said so many times, We have nothing to prove," said yet of Koncz.

Pacquiao will enjoy his 32th birthday this December.Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is possibly here, as well as Pacquiao who will be his opponent.
